Croudace Sept M2, 2010

Note: "Sept M2" refers to the second meeting this month. The date is not shown in the title as that can confuse the issue if the date for the meeting requires changing.

Due to the inconvenience of Saturday fortnight time-slot, meeting is set for Thursday 16th, 2010.

Time is being set for 6:30pm - 9:30pm, but should anyone need this amended, please let me know, otherwise 6:30pm-9:30pm it is.

I'll be forwarding minutes of the meeting today to each member.

Also I have received strong interest from another person to join the group. She's from the Central Coast and is willing to travel to Newcastle each meeting in order to participate. I've explained that the main criteria for membership is quite simple: A willingness and determination to get great outcomes. The focus on great outcomes - and that we each seek to act and achieve great outcomes -- is necessary for building the energy and momentum of the group.

So if you'd like to invite someone to this group, that is about the only criteria that I think needs to be emphasised ... that the intending member genuinely seeks great outcomes. This can therefore mean people who are not business owners per se, can join the group, as the central criteria of 'getting great outcomes' will lift and energise the group, no matter their circumstances. In any event, hearing of, and seeing how those of us who are business owners are having so much fun, will likely encourage that manager, business employee etc. to begin their own business. 

Now this scenario of having "intending members" poses a challenge for me, in that I'll need to set up the group account for the Croudace group (and all subsequent groups) to show some posts/upcoming events (public to members within that group) with following 2 tier setup: 1. 'full member' permissions/access to confidential minutes of the past meetings; 2. New candidate access which restricts the candidate to information regarding upcoming meetings, and other non-confidential details. Upon participating in a meeting, and demonstrating their willingness and determination to 'get great outcomes', along with having read and accepted the various courtesies and privacies of the group, they are then granted access to past content, including minutes of prior meetings etc. This then would help new members get a better sense of the history, momentum and direction for the group.

update (7:00pm, Tuesday)> Correct permissions, access levels for trial members and full, or accepted members now active.

Basically, intending members have access to group posts, and group events, but not (yet) access to the minutes of previous meetings.

Intending members cannot see member profiles of existing members, but members can of course review intending member profiles. Hope all this makes sense.

All posts and events within a group remain private to that group, unless the posts or events are deliberately posted as 'public'.
