September Update, Membership process
Hi LGGO members and friends,
I've taken the liberty to include some of you on this Newsletter after you indicated you would like to be kept informed of LGGO group developments, upcoming events etc. If you prefer to not receive further emails, please "unsubscribe" via the link at the bottom.
Okay, first up: I've constructed a membership page which details the membership approval process. Please direct anyone who has interest in getting great outcomes to the Membership process page. As explained, if no groups currently exist in a particular area, registering gives LGGO administrators a "heads-up" as to where we might need to build further interest to establish a group for that area or suburb (min. ~5 members).
Case in point was a recent quick visit I did to Singleton, where I met some down-to-earth business owners who I believe would greatly benefit from participating in a LGGO group. However at present no group has been formed in Singleton. Registration would indicate interest or need which could direct efforts and energy towards creating an active group.
Secondly, the focus of the groups is first and foremost about … you guessed it, getting great outcomes.
In my experience a great deal of ‘stuff’ can hinder our achievement of great outcomes.
At the urging of one of our LGGO members, I've included some ideas by Deepak Chopra regarding the common, but largely misunderstood ideal of seeking to live more ‘spiritually’ and effectively.
He makes the point, by quoting Maharishi Mahesh Yogi that many seek to live the ideal of detachment to which he warns:
“Life on the basis of detachment! This is a complete distortion of Indian philosophy. It has not only destroyed the path of realization but led the seekers of Truth continuously astray. Indeed it has left them without the possibility of ever finding the goal.”
Chopra continues by noting that the idea of detachment has been one which has been evident in nearly all cultures.
"In every tradition, not just the Indian, the grip of detachment and renunciation has had its withering effect."
And
"Maharishi contends that this is a fatal error."1
I believe that if we seek ‘great outcomes’ it involves living with a healthy dose of attachment to our energy, ideas, passions, sense of selves, openness and honesty – not to mention those ‘great outcomes’!
But of course, as many of you will be aware, that focus is best brought to fruition if we also ‘let go’ any dire need for, or attachment to, those outcomes.
It’s a complementary, paradoxical balance of focusing while letting go; of developing what I call a ‘relaxed expectedness’; of the journey AND the destination (great outcomes:)
That’s at least my focus in convening these groups. I hope this helps to encourage each of you to be more yourselves, to be spirit-filled and effective, and to have fun along the way.
Looking forward …

btw, new (online, website) systems are still being developed for the LGGO groups. I welcome any feedback concerning what can be done to improve the ease of registering, applying for membership, and related matters.
